Global Warming Gaffe

Writing about environmental issues is an enormous communications challenge. The biggest part of that challenge is ensuring that people understand the problems we face and have the right information about how to solve them. Some days it feels like that battle is being won. Then, on other days......

Then again, this might be considered scientific research to those who think that Global Warming is a liberal conspiracy.

OMG. One really doesn't know what to say. It almost seems as though the newspaper was cruel to print her letter - though it certainly added a good deal of hilarity to my day!

Trivia re this letter to the editor: the author is a man, not a woman as most people assume, and he is, of all things, an attorney (you can look him up on FindLaw).

Satire people, satire. Although don't feel to bad if you missed it; the paper got plenty of letters (some publishable) explaining that there is scientific concensus that humans don't control sunlight (except Mr Burns).

I'v gotten in truble many times at work for writing satirical/sarcastic/sardonic/darkly humorous emails that were inexplicably taken literally by some colleagues. I'm glad my blog is anonymous.
